Why Children and Youth Leadership Matter?
I am passionate about children and youth leadership because I believe in the power of young minds to shape a brighter future. The energy, creativity, and resilience of our youth hold the key to solving some of our most pressing challenges. With the right guidance, they can become leaders who drive meaningful change and innovation.
Two promising initiatives contributing to Pakistan's development
With a vibrant, youthful population, we’re launching two game-changing initiatives to empower children and youth as the leaders of today!
01.
Global Exchange, Local Empowerment : A Child-Focused Intervention Nurturing Young Leaders
Pakistan has 107.7 million individuals under the age of 18, including 71 million children aged 5 to 16, with 36% (25.3 million) of them out of school. It is estimated that Pakistan has over 12 million children who are victims of child labour.
I conceptualized and launched Global Exchange, Local Empowerment: A Child-Focused Intervention Nurturing Young Leaders. In partnership with Little Leaders International (LLI), through this initiative I mentor Pakistani students studying abroad, inspiring them to give back to their communities. These students share their knowledge, skills, and experiences with marginalized children, empowering them to learn from their peers, build confidence, and develop leadership skills. We believe that children are not just the leaders of tomorrow, but leaders today.
The initiative fosters cross-cultural connections, creates learning opportunities, and encourages strategic engagement. Its goal is to raise global awareness and garner support for children facing adversity, ultimately improving their lives and communities. Together, we can shift the narrative from victimhood to leadership.
02.
Modernization of the Brick Industry: A joint initiative of Families Set Free (FSF)and Pakistan Partnership (PPI)
Modernization of the Brick Industry is a faith-based, multi-sector initiative aiming to end bonded labor and generational poverty in Pakistan’s brick kiln sector, which employs over 3 million workers, many of them women and children. What sets us apart is our integration of faith, policy, and practical solutions. We’ve built a strong, values-driven coalition uniting government, nonprofits, and the private sector. Our strategy focuses on two key areas:
- Mechanizing brick production – shifting from handmade to machine-made bricks to eliminate exploitative labor, boost productivity, and reduce environmental harm.
- Transforming the workforce – providing vocational training to unskilled laborers and creating new employment pathways, especially in agriculture, a crucial part of Pakistan’s economy.
Together, we are creating sustainable change and offering a path out of poverty.
